A couple of very special visitors!

Yesterday we had a couple of very special people in the TLC for Kids Head Office!

The Gardner family had come to visit us, bringing along beautiful Elyssia, who we had supported with a RAPID TLC Request when she was a newborn! Elyssia’s father Adric had decided to give back to TLC for Kids by organising an amazingly successful Toy Drive at the school he teaches at, Wesley College.

Elyssia absolutely loved playing with bubbles, and was especially excited at her new toy lion – she loves all animals, but especially lions!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then we received a phone call….we had another very special visitor waiting for us outside!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Aslan! Aslan is an incredible animatronic lion from the stage show of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. He is going to be staying at the TLC for Kids Office so that we can look after him with love and care.

We couldn’t believe the coincidence of Elyssia’s visit and Aslan’s arrival, given her love of lions! And, unsurprisingly, she absolutely adored him!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Aslan and Elyssia spoke about all the important things – food, claws, and noses! She even gave him a hug and kiss.

Elyssia was having blood tests earlier that day, so we’re so glad that Aslan arrived to put a beautiful smile on her face! Thank you once again to the Gardner family.

And, in case you’re wondering, it took four able men and a door removal to get Aslan into the office, but he has a loving home in our reception now.
