TLC for Kids Geelong Auxiliary

The Rapid TLC Service is the fastest referral program of its kind in Australia.

Approved healthcare professionals can contact TLC for Kids to request free emotional and practical support for sick children in need, and their families, within 24 – 48 hours.

This program focuses especially on helping those who don’t meet the criteria of other major charities, in addition to helping children suffering debilitating or life-threatening illnesses. This might include:

• Children with rare illnesses,
• Children who have suffered from accidents, burns or abuse,
• Children with mental illness,
• Children with cystic fibrosis,
• And even family members who are impacted as well

The TLC for Kids Distraction™ Box Program is designed to give nurses and healthcare professionals the perfect tools to guide young children through painful examinations and procedures.

The Box is placed in medical rooms and contains items that engage the attention of the child; complement the procedure; comply with hospital infection control protocols; and divert attention away from the procedure.
