TLC for Kids and Essendon Fields unite for the Christmas Toy Drive
Our annual Christmas Toy Drive returns with the support of Essendon Fields. Every toy donated goes straight to the families we support, bringing joy and support sick children and their families.
While Christmas is a time for joy, connection, and celebration, for families with children in hospitals, it’s often a challenging period filled with worry and financial strain. Instead of sharing festive traditions, these families face the demanding reality of caring for a seriously ill child.
We are always there to help. Our mission goes beyond simply providing toys, we aim to give families a sense of relief, creating moments of joy that offer them a brief escape from their every day worries.
How you can make a difference:
Join us this year to help brighten a child’s day by contributing to the Christmas Toy Drive. A new toy donation is a simple way to spread joy and make a lasting impact on a family in need.
Drop-off location and dates:
- TLC for Kids Head Office, GO3, 7 English Street, Essendon Fields.
- Monday 1st December to Friday 19th December
- Monday – Friday: 9.30 am – 4.30 pm
- If you wish to drop off gifts before or after this date, please email the TLC for Kids’ Team – info@tlcforkids.org.au

How your generosity changed lives last holiday season
As last year’s festive season came to an end, something truly magical happened and it was all thanks to you. Together, the Essendon Fields Community and TLC for Kids supporters created moments that families in need will treasure forever.
Because of your incredible kindness, over 500 toys and gifts were donated, bringing joy to sick children who needed a little extra magic during Christmas. From sports balls and soft toys to Lego sets, jewellery, and more, every gift was chosen with care and love. Each one made its way into the hands of a child, sparking smiles and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Santa’s magical journey
One of the most heartwarming highlights came when Santa himself joined the fun, making early visits to 15 families across Melbourne who are supported by TLC for Kids Rapid TLC Service. Riding in the TLC Ambulance, Santa travelled over 250 kilometres in just two days, delivering gifts and joy to more than 52 children and their families.
There was pure magic in every moment. One little boy was so thrilled he tried to climb into his hamper of gifts! These small but powerful acts of kindness showed just how much these donations mean to the families who receive them.

And the magic doesn’t stop there. The remaining toys will continue to bring smiles throughout the year as new requests come in, ensuring that your generosity reaches even more children and families in need.
To every member of the Essendon Fields Community, every donor, sponsor, and supporter: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity turned what could have been a difficult holiday season into a time of joy and hope for so many families.
