This year, we were super excited to have our Family Fun Day at the Collingwood Children’s Farm. A big thank you to Neil Mitchell and 3AW who broadcast the morning radio show from the event, and 3 Point Motors who helped us put on the day for the sick kids and families we work with.
So close to the city, yet the Farm provided a real escape for families to a peaceful countryside environment with animals and trees as far as the eye could see. Supporters came from far and wide to make the day happen, from our invaluable volunteers, through to a host of major sponsors, to delicious food vendors and marvellous entertainers. A big thank you to all those who helped out – we couldn’t have done it without you!
The sun was shining as the kids and families enjoyed guinea pig cuddles, an animal feed walk, tractor rides, face painting, cow milking, live Christmas Carols, colouring in, nail wraps, entertainers including a fairy, magician, jugglers, stilt walkers and a tasty BBQ with egg and bacon rolls, sausages, burgers and the always popular Tasty Taters (aka potato on a stick). Of course, our mascots Splidge and Splodge made an appearance and were a hit!
Santa made a grand entrance to the Farm in a 3 Point Motors Mercedes, to be greeted by excited kids who couldn’t wait to tell him what was on their list this Christmas. Santa’s elves were close by to give everyone Wizz Fizz stockings.
To all the families who came along on the day, and to those who weren’t able to attend, we wish you all a very happy holiday season. We have loved hearing your feedback.
