Since 1998, TLC for Kids has given relief and much-needed distraction to sick children and their families during stressful and traumatic situations. In 2004, we expanded the RAPID TLC and Distraction Box services to South Australia. In 2023 we started rolling out the Tap 2 Distract App and this year, we have expanded the TLC Ambulance to benefit children and families across SA. Our services have been used over 16.3 million times and counting In hospitals across Australia.

Our Aim

We are focused on securing funds to keep the TLC Ambulance service in South Australia on the road and to cover ongoing operational costs associated with each trip. The expenses will vary based on trip complexity and the need for additional medical staff besides volunteer paramedics.

When not engaged in Memory Making Trips*, our unique TLC Ambulance will transport patients** requiring minimal medical aid for various needs like medical appointments, and hospital transfers, with a key emphasis on wheelchair accessibility. By broadening our services to include more sick children and families, we aim to optimise the support offered.

*Memory Making Trips completed in the TLC Ambulance are for children in palliative care and their families.
