Johnny Rollins visits Monash Children’s Hospital

The kids at Monash Children’s Hospital received a very special visit from The Voice finalist Johnny Rollins!Johnny Rollins at Monash Hospital

For one of the first times ever, in front of an intimate crowd of around twenty children, parents and staff, Johnny sang and played an acoustic mixture of hits and his own songs for the crowd. He accompanied his songs with an insight into their meaning and significance, something he doesn’t normally do – which we think this speaks volumes about how important his audience was! In particular, Johnny’s performance of Stay With Me really struck a cord with many of the parents in the room.

After his performance, Johnny took photos and talked with the patients and parents, even sneaking in a bit of guitar play-time for some of the smaller kids, and visiting some big fans of The Voice around the hospital. Even though some kids were a little shy, Johnny was fantastic at making them feel at ease and talking to them – thanks Johnny!

One of our favourite stories from the day is this: a little girl had been on a drip during the performance, but when it ended she asked the nurses to help her out of her hospital gear, off the drip, and into her favourite party dress to get a photo with Johnny. So cute!

Everyone at TLC for Kids and the Monash Children’s Hospital is super grateful to Johnny, and especially glad that the kids and parents had a great time.

Also, Johnny will be releasing a new song very soon, so make sure you give it a listen! You can see heaps of great pics from the day below.

Until next time,
TLC for Kids
