Cubby Magic for Elyssia

On Saturday 19th May, 2018, TLC for Kids had the pleasure of delivering a beautiful Crooked Cubby to young Elyssia.

Elyssia is 5 years old and has a rare condition. TLC for Kids has helped her and her family a few times in the past, and when the opportunity arose we were more than happy to organise a fun cubby for her!

Our ambassadors Jarrad and Michael Duggan-Tierney, also known as the ‘Real Dads of Melbourne,’ received an offer from WoodSmart for a bespoke Crooked Cubby for their son Reid. Generously, Jarrad and Michael then contacted us to offer the cubby to a TLC family.

The Crooked Cubby was covertly assembled on the day with Brennen & Tahlia from Woodsmart in attendance, along with Jarrad, Michael, Reid, and the TLC for Kids team.

When she finally got the chance to see it, Elyssia’s face lit up! She was absolutely over the moon. It was such a gorgeous sight to see her and Reid exploring the cubby and playing hide and seek around the garden.

There is nothing more precious than creating moments of happiness for a child in need, and a space where she can go to find that joy over and over.
